ILLUSTRATED BOOKS

I am excited to share my debut into the world of illustrated books, with two exciting ventures to be released over the coming year. I hope that my whimsical illustrative style can be enjoyed by both children and adults, reminding us all of simpler times surrounded by nature and local wildlife.

Please visit my Shop page from November 27th, in time for Christmas.

WHISPERS IN THE PARK

EMMANUEL OLYMPITIS

A father-daughter venture, out now on Amazon!

Whispers in the Park takes the reader on a rollicking adventure through the treetops and undergrowth of the magnificent St James’s Park, where the most ancient and prestigious school for squirrels resides.

When young squirrels Shane and Sophie receive scholarships to St James’s, they are excited and nervous to enter the magical world of squirreldom’s most venerable institution. But when school treasures start to go missing, they are swept up into a gripping detective story, the unravelling of which will require some outside assistance…

Introducing Miriam: art teacher and head of girls sports at St James’s School for Squirrels

I spent the spring and summer of 2024 collaborating with my father on our first children’s book Whispers in the Park. Rambling through London’s St James’s Park, we imagined a world of wildlife reminiscent of Wind in the Willows. Matching the nostalgic tone of the book and stereotypically British narrative, we chose to print the interior illustrations in black and white, with antique-style captions that remind the reader of a charming literary past. The whimsical prose is designed for all the family, recalling the days when my Dad used to tell me stories from the end of my bed.

Whispers in the Park will be available to purchase on Amazon from 9th December, or I have some stock already available from my Shop, where I also sell a selection of prints in both black and white and colour.

THE CHERWELL BOATHOUSE BOOK OF SUMMER IN OXFORD, Anne-Marie Verdin

Look out for this illustrated book for every age group, which will be released in summer 2025. This guide, commissioned by Oxford’s most serene restaurant and punting station The Cherwell Boathouse, is full of life and colour in my typical vibrant style of watercolour. Discover Oxford’s best pubs, delis and activities, alongside the city’s lesser-known natural beauty best experienced while punting on the river Cherwell.
